100 T/24H Solid Sodium Silicate Production Line in Indonesia

Meibao completed a 100 T/24H solid sodium silicate production line in Indonesia. The line uses soda ash and quartz sand as the main raw materials and integrates automatic weighing and batching, material feeding, high-temperature melting, regenerative heat recovery, chain-plate cooling and forming, product collection and centralized process control.


The completed project demonstrates Meibao’s integrated engineering capability across process design, equipment manufacturing, installation guidance, commissioning and operator training.

Project Overview

 

The production line was configured around a capacity of 100 tonnes per 24 hours. Soda ash and quartz sand are automatically weighed according to the production formula and transferred to the furnace feeding system.

 

Inside the furnace, the mixed raw materials react and melt at 1350–1450°C. The molten sodium silicate is discharged from the molten pool and transferred to the chain-plate cooling and forming conveyor. After cooling and solidification, the material forms glassy solid sodium silicate lumps or granules for collection and downstream handling.

 

A regenerative heat-recovery system is integrated with the furnace to recover heat from the high-temperature flue gas and preheat the combustion air and fuel gas.

Process Description

 

1. Automatic Weighing and Batching

Soda ash and quartz sand are accurately weighed through the automatic metering system. The measured raw materials are combined according to the production formula before entering the conveying system.

 

2. Material Conveying and Furnace Feeding

The prepared raw materials are transported to the furnace feeding section. The feeding system coordinates with the batching system to maintain an orderly material supply to the melting furnace.

 

3. High-Temperature Melting

The raw materials enter the furnace and react at a temperature of 1350–1450°C. The material gradually melts and forms molten sodium silicate in the molten pool.

 

4. Regenerative Heat Recovery

The furnace tail flue gas leaves the high-temperature section at approximately 1200°C. The regenerator recovers this heat to preheat the combustion air to approximately 1100°C and the fuel gas to approximately 900°C.

After heat recovery, the final exhaust temperature is reduced to below 180°C. The recovered heat is returned to the combustion process through the regenerative furnace system.

 

5. Cooling and Forming

The molten sodium silicate is discharged from the molten pool onto the chain-plate cooling and forming conveyor. During conveying, the material cools and solidifies into glassy sodium silicate lumps or granules.

 

6. Product Discharge and Collection

The solidified product is transferred to the discharge hopper for collection and subsequent handling, storage or further processing.

 

7. Centralized Process Control

The control system provides centralized monitoring of batching, material feeding, furnace operation, combustion conditions and production-line status. The operating interface allows production personnel to observe and manage the main process sections from one control platform.
