Regenerative Sodium Silicate Furnace — Cambodia
Regenerative Sodium Silicate Melting Furnace Project in Cambodia
Meibao supplied a regenerative melting furnace system for a solid sodium silicate production project in Cambodia.
Solid sodium silicate, also known as solid water glass, is produced from soda ash and quartz sand through batching, high-temperature melting, cooling and forming. The system integrates raw-material feeding, furnace melting, regenerative heat recovery, chain-plate cooling and centralized control.

Project Overview
Soda ash and quartz sand are weighed and mixed according to the production formula. The prepared materials are transferred to the storage silo and continuously fed into the melting furnace.
Inside the furnace, the raw materials react and melt at 1350–1450°C, forming molten sodium silicate in the molten pool.
The molten material is discharged from the furnace and transferred to the chain-plate cooling and forming conveyor. During conveying, the material cools and solidifies into glassy solid sodium silicate.
A regenerative heat-recovery system uses high-temperature furnace-tail flue gas to preheat the combustion air and fuel gas before they enter the furnace.

Process Description
1. Raw-Material Batching
The production system supports manual weighing or automatic weighing and batching.
Soda ash and quartz sand are measured according to the production formula and mixed before entering the feeding system.
2. Material Conveying
The prepared raw materials are transferred to the storage silo by the bucket elevator.
The material is then continuously introduced into the melting furnace through the feeding and pushing system.
3. High-Temperature Melting
Soda ash and quartz sand react inside the furnace at 1350–1450°C.
The raw materials gradually melt and form liquid sodium silicate in the molten pool.
4. Regenerative Heat Recovery
The furnace-tail flue gas leaves the high-temperature section at approximately 1300°C and passes through the regenerative chamber.
The recovered heat preheats the combustion air to approximately 1100°C and the fuel gas to approximately 900°C.
After heat recovery, the final exhaust-gas temperature is reduced to approximately 200°C.
5. Airflow Reversing
The reversing system periodically changes the flow direction through the regenerative chambers.
One chamber stores heat from the outgoing flue gas, while the other chamber releases heat to the incoming combustion air and fuel gas.
6. Molten Material Discharge
Molten sodium silicate leaves the molten pool through the furnace outlet and enters the forming section.
The discharge system connects the continuous melting process with the downstream cooling equipment.
7. Chain-Plate Cooling and Forming
The molten sodium silicate is transferred onto the chain-plate cooling conveyor.
During conveying, the material gradually cools and forms glassy solid sodium silicate pieces.
8. Product Collection
The cooled product is transferred to the finished-product hopper for storage, stacking or subsequent packing.
9. Centralized Control
The control system monitors batching, furnace feeding, combustion, furnace temperature, airflow reversing, heat recovery and product forming.
